What is it with a good pair of shoes? There’s an attachment, a relationship.  They carry us through good times and bad, adding some flair to a look, keeping us warm on those cold rainy days, or carrying us across the finish line of a literal marathon or those figurative marathons where the line isn’t always clear.

To celebrate those shoes that have done so much for us, we present you with an homage to some of the brands out there already carrying incredible stories in their soles (pun.  haha.)

LOWER LEFT BLUE LOAFERS: TEYSHA| BROWN BOOT: SSEKO| FUR WRAP SANDAL: BROTHER VELLIES| UPPER RIGHT: BROTHER VELLIES (again :) | TIE HEELS:  CHIE MIHARA | CRAFTSMAN BOTTOM RIGHT:  -NISOLO

Brother Vellies: They cover pretty much everything here both in terms of sustainability, artisan work and their materials but we also really love the unique story and craft that each shoe carries.

Teysha: Working with artisans in Guatemala they handcraft their beauitful shoes using indigenous patterns in creative ways

Nisolo and Sseko also work with artisans, Nisolo in Peru and Sseko in Uganda and each feature the stories of some of their craftsmen and women on their pages.

Wearing these shoes truly connects you to a story and the people that made them, making all these brands a obvious choice; why, yes, a shoe-in.
