STYLE FILE : Lazy Sunday

8.31 - lazysunday

EVERYBODY’S WORKIN FOR THE WEEKEND – AND IT’S THE WEEKEND – LABOR DAY.

Hey you, worker of the world: celebrate and stay in bed this Sunday.

When you become an adult, the only thing better than waking up before your alarm and realizing you can keep sleeping, is waking up on the SUNDAY of a three day weekend and knowing you have two more days of the weekend. Bliss.

In honor of this incredible type of day, we give you Lazy Sunday, the best Sunday there is.

Bralette and shorts are from the made in NYC gorgeous Araks; we feel the description of their woman fits all you girls reading this quite perfectly (admit it, you’re a fox). Made with Italian fabrics, these are investment pieces for certain – but a bigger spend makes sense for items that are so wearable – they’re casual and dare we say, also quite sexy!

The tank and sweater, both in snuggly cotton, are meant for layering in case for some strange reason, you decide to climb out of bed. They’re from Everlane, an awesome basics brand that gives you a glimpse into their factories, as well as into their pricing. According to the company, this particular sweater is made in Hong Kong at a factory owned by Mr. Chu, who also has a “slow business” philosophy. The tank is made in LA at Mr. Kim’s factory, with which the company closely collaborates. We love that they tell us the names ?. We find their prices super reasonable, and their quality always meets our standards of well-constructed, soft-on-your-skin, wardrobe-building pieces.

These Eileen Fisher socks will keep your toes all cozy feeling, and are made from viscose, a.k.a rayon (bare with us a second – we think this is important for you to know). Viscose / rayon is made from the renewable resource of wood pulp, which theoretically could be a good eco-choice, but not nearly for an always on top of things kind of lady like Eileen. She doesn’t like that it’s not always traceable to sustainable wood sources and safe working conditions, so she’s transitioning over to tencel (if you’re intrigued, read more here on your Lazy Sunday).

Finally, THIS SCRUB. A sugary treat for you, made in an actual kitchen, with none of the harmful stuff. Sugar that’s good for you? Yes, please. Yum.
